Consider Becoming A Radio Host by Sue London
Becoming a Radio Host was sure not something I had planned for. It happened as a result of being a guest on a radio show while I was promoting my personal story of overcoming Crohns disease, a life and death pregnancy, abuse, being given 30 minutes to live, having a near death experience, going through divorce and soaring above it all and creating the life I desire. I will admit, at first I was very nervous about hosting a show. What kind of guests and topics would I cover, how would I organize a script, learn the technology behind hosting a show, and then once I did all that, how and where would I promote the show, went through my mind. Once I became clear on my reason for hosting a show then things just started to flow. I wanted to help millions of people around the world cope, heal, and move through challenges similar to what I had once faced in my own life. I wanted to get the listeners inspired!
Many unexpected benefits have happened because of hosting my own show. I have met many talented and gifted people who are truly making a positive difference for millions around the world. I have worked on other projects with many of my guests. Some of my guests have featured me in their books. The next book coming out with my story is Chicken Soup for the Soul! I have been invited to join many conferences and speak for many telesummits. I have been invited on different TV shows, been invited into schools and had articles published in countless magazines in Canada, USA, and England. I have experienced personal spiritual growth and developed wonderful new friendships as a result of interviewing guests. Not only have I experienced personal benefits but also watched my business grow as a result of my own radio show. Having my own radio show allows me to promote myself as an author of 3 books and counting, promote my spiritual life coaching programs, my radio host training programs, my Reiki training classes, and brought me many more opportunities for speaking events as a motivational speaker. You could say my show is a great business card that is reaching millions of people around the world. Each week on my show during my final segment I share a life lesson, a tool or technique that can help my listeners. The positive feedback that comes from these shared messages is very rewarding.
If you want to have more exposure for your product, service, or business consider hosting your own radio show. Become a media expert in your field! Be your own star and help others through the work you do! Radio hosting is one of the best medias to get attention for yourself and your business. With being a radio host I have found it easier to get booked onto other shows.
As I look back over the years since I started hosting my show I have become a more confident person and really have had a lot of fun with my guests, my listeners and my producer. Each of my guests enjoy the experience of our interview and ask to be invited back real soon. I have watched my listener numbers grow as people share they feel they can connect with me as I share my personal stories of my husband snoring or our latest puppies’ adventures. I’m proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and becoming a radio host. It’s very rewarding knowing that I am making a positive difference for millions around the world through my show. My show, Get Inspired Radio ™, is now syndicated and heard on many networks. I have been receiving offers to host my own TV show! I have received 2 offers from producers who want to make my life story book, “Soar Above It All- Overcoming Adversities”, into a documentary. And that is just a small piece of what’s coming up next for me!
